jitter and black and white (1 Viewer)

Thanks in advance for any and all help.
I installed MP along with a Hauppauge WinTV-HVR 1600. I can watch and record with the WinTV software with no problem connected to my Dish Network VIP222k box. Only real problem I have is having to tune the box manually to the channel I want to record. Im sure there is a fix for that once I get more into it, but the problem I have with MP is as follows:

The video is black and white and has real problems creating a clear picture. It is jittery and can hardly see anything. The audio is perfect. What am I lacking here? I have both programs set up to use the same Video renderer (VMR9) but the WinTV works great with any of the four offered (Overlay, VMR7,VMR9. and EVR). I am using hardware acceleration.

Any Ideas? I like all the options and plug-ins available for MP and would really like to be able to use it like it was meant to be used, but if I cant get this problem corrected, then there is no reason not to just use the WinTV as my sole DVR application.

If I got your post right (it's very late here ), you have connected your TV-card to the STB, meaning you are on analogue?
If so, I believe the B&W is due to input missmatch (s-video - composite output).

The input mismatch was correct. I now have it on the composite channel and i have color now. still getting poor video with the jitteryness, if that is even a word. The log file is attached and my system information is now available to you for review.

Not sure if your gfx meets the req. of DX9, and your CPU is kinda weak, although considering that your TV-card has hardware encoding of analogue it shouldn't be a problem.

Hopefully someone will take a look at you EVR.log, as it shows a lot of dropped frames.
