I always wondered why Mediaportal didn't have a live tv setup thing like Media Center does where you put in your zip code and stuff and it'll automatically download the guide data. This is no big deal was just always curious.

I'm using mc2xml atm and it seems to be working perfectly. Anyway that's all

That is true. Anyway it's no big deal. I got my guide setup perfectly so I'm happy I was just curious. Thanks for the reply!

Yes it would be nice if you could enter your country and post/zip code and have certain elements of MP configure themselves based on that. For example the tuning parameters for terrestrial broadcast, weather details and perhaps even news feeds.

I think it is possible using either a wiki page we can all contribute and update with the relevant data, or just XML's posted and checked into SVN like we do with tuning details.

Regardless of how you woudl do it, it won't be possible with MP 1.x. However it may in time be possible with MP2. it would still need someone to write the plugin and interface for it, but I suspect that would be a lot more feasible with the way MP2 will be built.
