[QUOTE="robomonkey, post: 104163, member: 14217"] Well, what can I say!!!! MP is still waaayy better! So I've got an xbox 360 and really wanted to try the extender functionality which is why I got myself a copy of Vista and installed it (all credit to MS as installation was very easy, creating a clean install from within windows!), anyhow got it installed and had a little play, very pretty and all, installed divx and fired up MCE. Firstly all the wizards are nice and easy to run through, untill, it gets to the library and it takes fooking ages, around 2 and a bit hours to add approx 6,000 media files from a remote share. Once it was all setup I watched a bit of TV, first thing that struck me was the guide text is HUGE and you can hardly see any channels or info about whats on, I'm used to seeing the majority of my fav channels and at least 2 hours of programming, not with MCE! this is actually a deal breaker for me, whenever somebody releases a new skin the first thing I look at is the guide! Putting that aside I tried to watch a few divx shows and around 50% of them failed and crashed MCE, other times they'd play but without audio, clearly this is down to drivers and compatibility. So still undeterred I moved onto the xbox, started it up and paired it etc and started MCE, for me the idea is how nice it'd be to be able to easily switch between playing games, watching TV, and videos etc. but MCE takes what feels like ages to start, and then obvioulsy divx doesn't work nativly without transcode360, but just browsing the library takes a decade as you can only add shares, not foldes so you're constantly clicking through the folder structure to get where you want and then if you switch to TV it doesn't remember where you were! Anyhow I installed this last night and have just re-imaged my drive back tp XP with MP, and all of a sudden everything works a treat again. I'm sure spending more time fiddling with Vista MCE and with better drivers it'd be quite good, but for my liking it'd still be big and 'clunky' and the xbox extender was to slow starting and navigating to use full time, big thanks to the developers of MP for creating a fast flexible app!!!!
