I created a K700 HID profile so you can use the telephone as a small remote controller to control MediaPortal. The graphics for the keylayout is not fully done (doesnt contain any graphics to what the keys represent).

the keys are mapped as:

Left mouse: ESC (parent menu)
Right mouse: ENTER (select menu)
Left joy: LEFT (movement)
.. (and so on)
Down joy: DOWN (movement)
Press joy: F9 (context menu)
Keypad 1: 1 (channel select)
.. (and so on)
Keypad 0: 0 (channel select)
Keypad star: b (stop playback)
Keypad hash: SPACE (pause playback)
Side cam: x (toggle fullscreen)
Side up: = (volume up)
Side down: - (volume down)

You can download the file at:

Suggestions are welcome

whats HID?

Human Interface Device. A Bluetooth or USB keyboard uses this standard to connect to the computer. More technical information is found here: http://www.usb.org/developers/devclass_docs/Hut1_11.pdf

Sony Ericcson's K700(i/c) or S700(i/c) telephones can connect using Bluetooth to a PC and act as a keyboard. This way you can control an application. the profile describes how the keys are mapped. If anyone need the relevant documentation for this, it is on the SE site, but you need to apply for a developer account.

Thanks!

Not a lot of people replied to your post but thanks, this is very usefull. I guess not a lot of people having a K700 know about this functionality...

What would be great would be to create a HID for Mediaportal more orientated to movie playback than TV. With maybe channel up and down and then mostly forward/backward, next/previous chapter and so on.

I've just got a SE T630, so I'm interested in this work. Hopefully a full plugin for SE phones can be integrated as another remote option.

I know its been requested before, but perhaps there could be a MP plugin for the very cool open-source project FMA:

http://fma.sourceforge.net/index2.htm

If you don't know it, check it out. Much better than the SE software.

Can you write a small howto for the plugin. How do I setup the phone with this file to control media portal. I have a Bluetooth USB stick which comes with BlueSoleil.

Thanks
