I have an almost clean installation of XP and MP, but still a little problem. MP 0.2.0.4 works great. No problem. Win XP is a problem. It causes the machine to freeze now and then. I think the problem is related to some hardwarechange.

Is there a way to keep MP with all the settings and TV-stations before I reinstall Win XP?

Have looked in other threads, but could not find anything similar to this (i think). Really new with this!

should work if you just copy (backup) your mediaportal directory and then copy it back to the same location after the reintall. mediaportal doesn't use any registry entries (hope i'm not wrong here). i'm not sure how about the codecs which need to get registered, but a way out could be to take the start.bat from the svn builds, put it into the directory and run it (could break mp, i'm not sure about it), but it definately worth the try...

    Dragonjack,
Mofux is right for the main part. Codecs could present a problem, UNLESS you've chosen to use the MPV and MPA codecs, which come as a standard with MP.
Here's what I have done in the past:
    1. Back up MP (on another disk if you intent to keep it :))
    2. Format system disk, install XP
    3. Install MP as if you would a normal MP install
    4. Delete the MP Folder (NOT Team MediaPortal folder, but MediaPortal folder itself!) or rename it.
    5. Copy the 'old' MP back to it's original place.

If you use other codecs-> install them first.
If you use Deamon Tools-> install it first (in the same directory as you initially did)

    Good luck!!

Doing it this way makes sure you've got the original codecs etc installed and registered. Works like a charm!!
