Synopsis: The keyboard no longer works within Mediaportal.
This used to work , and then C: got full.
I had to move some TV files away, and the database said it had been marked as "crashed" and needed to be repaired.
I repaired the MySql database
I can now no longer use the remote or the keyboard in mediaportal. The mouse still works. I am not sure what log I can look in, of what configuration file may need checking. Appreciate any help that saves me doing a reinstall. I don't mind starting with a blank database if that is the solution (will need to know how to create one if it comes to it)

    Hi

Were you using the shortcutter plugin or other mapping of remote control?

Check that your keymap.xml is OK (about 29k) in c:/ProgramData/Team MediaPortal/Mediaportal and if you have it, Shortcutter.xml is also present, as is C:/Program Files (x86)/Team Mediportal/Mediaportal/plugins/process/shortcutter.dll

If that get's you no where, post your system logs please and hopefully someone can help you out.

    Cheers - JCMP

PS - if C getting full is an issue, if you have a larger drive with space you can move your ProgramData/Team MediaPortal to there, then place a line in C: to the new location (it's what I do on my dev box as it has lots of skins and partly hacked skins:)

    J

    Fantastic!
yep, sure enough, the KeyMap.XML file was empty (except for the main XML tag)
On my 64bit pc, this was in "C:\ProgramData\Team MediaPortal\MediaPortal\"
I copied the file from another pc running media portal, restarted MP and all's well
    Thanks JCMP
