Keyboard Shortcuts (1 Viewer)

Is there a list somewhere of all the functions that you can use in MP-TVSeries using keyboard shortcuts?

The reason I'd like this is that since updating my PC from Vista to Win 7 (a long time ago), my remote has only worked for basic functions, and things like info, subtitle, language etc don't work anymore... I'm using intelliremote to map the functions to the remote, byut some I don't know!

Seems the key mediaportal has mapped for info is F3, but this doesn't work in MP-TVSeries, so thought it may be programmed differently?

Thx :)

Hi, these keys might be what your looking for

    F9 - Context Menu etc
Y - OSD where you can get to subtitles
    L - Enable subtitles

i believe the above are just mediaportal keys not specific to MP-TVSeries

I really appreciate your help. Y seems to work; it brings up info about the program, and lets you select audio, subtitles etc...

The other 2 don't work though, but Y seems to be useful.

Any others? I'm going to try watching something and just press keys, see what happens!

Instead of messing around, open MediaPortal Configuration, click on "Switch to Expert mode" at the top right if you had not done so already, and then open the General section via [+], then click on "Keyboard Default Shortcuts". And here you can see the full overview of everything that is possible, including any conditions that have to be met, for example 'Fullscreen Video' (this would be the one MP-TVSeries falls under).

You can also select the "Remote" section and use the "Mapping" button to manipulate the action and conditions. Use the "General HID" tab for a multimedia keyboard you might have. I'm using an ATi Remote Wonder myself which falls under the X10 category and have customized a lot on the control.

MP-TVSeries now also has some additional remote key support, for example the "Prev Picture" and "Next Picture" Actions can be used to cycle cover art now, just map this to any button on your remote that you have available, or use the conditions to give an existing button a different function under the conditions you desire.

For example I'm using the fast-forward and fast-rewind buttons myself, but since I also use these when video is playing, I configured three conditions under the "All Layers" section of those buttons that match all the "Playing" options (DVD/Media/TV), for the regular "Rewind" and "Forward" actions. Then as the final entry I have a "No Condition" entry that then uses the respective "Prev Picture" and "Next Picture" Actions.

So while inside MP-TVSeries GUI, I can now use the << and >> buttons on my remote to change the poster on a series, but when I'm playing something it rewinds/forwards the video. More remote control actions will hopefully soon be added, for example to switch to a certain View. Of course you can use the menus to get to the same result, but when you have a ton of custom buttons, why not use them :D

Thansk for the advice... Before posting here I looked at the standard mediaportal shortcuts as you described above, but these do not seem to work for me :(

have you actually tried them using a normal keyboard and not your intelliremote software + remote?

must be less hassle just to get a MCE remote ;)

Yep tried with the keyboard. The reason I posted was because I looked up the shortcuts in the config, tried them on the keyboard, and they didn't work.

It may be less hassle to get an MCE remote, however it's more money, and this one worked with Vista, just has issues with 7... Just frustrating!

Is there some kind of documentation on which keys are supported and what they do? I'm especially interested in a shortcut for the "Context Menu -> Download -> Retrieve Subtitle" feature, since asking the user before play has been axed from newer revisions.

    Thanks in advance.
