Synopsis:

KNC ONE DVB-S simply not detected.
Windows and all what is ralated with windows is up to date
so as recent as possible (yesterday installed and updated till end)

You need to install BDA drivers

I've removed the WDM driver and installed after rebooting the philips BDA driver and, after a second rebbot, Mediaportal can not detect any TV card despite that the KNC ONE is according windows correctly working.

I didn't know that BDA drivers would work under a normal XP version..so not MCE? Well, I cann ot verify that the card works cause mediaportal can't find the KNC ONE.

Did MP detect it first time?

MCE or XP Pro doesn't matter if you applied all updates like suggested.
MCE is just another app on top of XP Pro. There are only a few files which aren't identically.

I've tested various configurations now, both with wdm and BDA drivers.

The only one that did work with out any problem was showshifter.
Too bad no CI support and I don't like the screen layout that much.


Mediaportal:
KNC-ONE not detected, both with WMD as BDA drivers.

Sceneo TVcentral:
KNC-ONE detected with only WDM drivers.
But: disorted video in series of a few seconds normal video and then suddenly or severe artefacts or just a complete still image while sounds
continious to play. All suggested steps tried but nothing helps.

Meedio:
KNC-ONE not detected, both with WDM as BDA drivers

Conclusion:

I would have the intention to say, something IS wrong with the configuration (hardware/software) but then again, showshifter works.
This is a rediculous situation cause it makes it much more difficult to find a problem, if there is one related to my general setup or not.

Nvidia purevideo codec tested, same problem.

Other sowftare tested:

SageTV: did not recognize the card first.
After switching to BDA drivers and a small patch then sageTV could detect the card but was not able to tune at all.

XawTV: nothing detected.

BeyondTV: nothing detected.

Now, I'm clueless since showshifter can play the video properly.
if that was not the case, then it could be system related but damn showshifter.

Since I have soo many problems suddenly under windows , argh,
yes, next test is Linux and Myth and I have to say now if that should work
then windows is a louzy multimedia platform.
More news to follow.
