Hello everyone,

I have installed Mediaportal 0.2 RC4 on my XP SP2-machine and I'm using an Hauppage PVR150 MCE TV-Tuner and a KNC1 DVB-C Tuner.

Well, the Hauppage card is detected and working fine, but Mediaportal doesn't detect my KNC1-card at all.

Tried several things like WDM drivers, BDA-drivers and removing the Hauppage-card from the system.

I had it working once, when I was using some MCE2005-beta-drivers from KNC1 which where actually made for the DVB-T model, but had a driver for the DVB-C also included. But... using that driver the card was detected in MP but not receiving at all. I couldn't find any channels. Then I Manually added the channels but the screen was black during watching TV.

Can anyone please help me? Now I reinstalled the whole system, and have the Original BDA-driver installed which is intended to work with Mediaportal, but again, the card is not detected at all !

Hopefully someone has the answer...

If you use the newest BDA Drivers - 4.7.0.0 (Beta) then:
Either add the code to CaptureCardDefinitions.xml or search the CaptureCardDefinitions.xml for KNC ONE TV-Station DVB-C/C+ (CU1216) and remove the '-' between TV an Station.
The '-' has to be removed in 2 entries.

Then the card get's recoginized.

Don't know why the CaptureCardDefinitions.xml doesen't get corrected.

Please report back if this has worked.

After installing my KNC One DVB-C with the 4.7.0.0 (Beta) BDA drivers correctly my device manager looks like this:

Maybe you can take a look at your device manager. Are the 2 entrys for the KNC One exactly the same?

If not maybe you can post an image of how it looks like in your device manager.

If the entrys are the same and you modyfied the CaptureCardDefinitions.xml like I sayed then probably it's a problem of Media Portal.

In the CaptureCardDefinitions.xml there are many entries for KNC One cards - are you sure you modified the right ones?

Alternatively you could add this:
http://members.chello.at/nagiller/pics/knc1dvb-c.txt
to the CaptureCardDefinitions.xml
But be sure to paste it the way, that the </capturecards> is the last entry. You have to paste the text between
Code:
  </capturecard>
</capturecards>
at the end of the file.

Also if you look into the device manager at the properties of the KNC One under details does the entry look like this:
PCI\VEN_1131&DEV_7146&SUBSYS_00201894&REV_01\3&61AAA01&0&50
the important part is:"VEN_1131&DEV_7146&SUBSYS_00201894&REV_01"
if this is different something more has to be changed in the CaptureCardDefinitions.xml

In the Device Manager I found out that some values where different for the device ID. Changed it in the configuration-file and it's working fine now.

    Does it work know?

I am going to buy a KNC ONE DVB-C + Cineview + CAM
to put my Kabel-Deutschland / Premiere smartcard to view
    encrypted channels.

Can someone confirm that it would work?

Card+cam do cost about 200€ ... lot of money if it does not.!!

Watching unencrypted channels works, the cam for encrypted channels is not yet supported as far as I know.
The KNC One card uses a Philips chipset: SAA7146A & CU1216
And what I got to know is that the KNC One BDA drivers are more or less generic Philips ones.

As far as I know the Technotrend budget cards do use the same Philips chipset.

I think MP already supports the Technotrend CI module.

Look here for KNC One Cineview support:
    https://forum.team-mediaportal.com/viewtopic.php?t=6166&highlight=knc+one

It probably should not be that difficult to add Cineview support but at the moment I think it is not supported.

For developers that could and Cineview support maybe they could contact Philips semiconductors as well.

All KNC cards work under mediaportal.
But the CI add-on seems to have problems.

Hi has anybody have any idea about the KNC DVB-T version because this cards has exactly the same problem. It is not detected by Media portal, but it works fine under there own provide application Global TV. However I don't like this application and really want to let it work with Mediaportal.

Does anybody think this is a similar problem as with the DVB-C card. As extra background information I also installed the latest KNC drivers.
