Here is my problem:

Synopsis::

I live in cable area so I need to use cable (DVB-C).

I can succesfully autotune all the channels.
But viewing is impossible. I get maybe 25% of the top and at 1 frame per second. Also MP keeps telling me that channel is scrambled (they are not).

I have had this problem for about 8 months now and I will be moving in two months. But it seems that I have cable there too.

I have confirmed tha card with original WDM drivers & applications. It actually works but not with BDA drivers (in MP).

Any ideas?

There are actually no error logs but I pasted this piece of mp log, there seems to be something wrong wtih TV1 (which is free). Maybe experts know what this could mean.

So let me get this right...

So if you use the BDA drivers with MP it does not work
If you use the WDM drivers with it's own bundled app it does work
or are you saying you use the WDM drivers under MP and thats when you get some sort of result???

Have you tried another BDA application with the card say MyTheatre?

The Audio & Video decoders you're using are not the best either - tried the Nvidia codecs?

KNC1 & MP & BDA drivers, not working
KNC1 & WDM & KNC application, works OK

I do remeber trying MyTheatre and I think I got better results, but I like MP lot better.

I will try nvidia codecs, we'll see if that helps.

What does this line mean?

Try MyTheatre with BDA drivers.
We only support BDA for that device so verify another application works with it with those drivers.

OK,

Tried another program (showshifter) and had similar problems. So I have to make follwoing conclusions:

1. KNC1 BDA drivers (at least for DVB-C) are not good *OR*
2. My setup has problems and I need to reinstall

I will be making a new mediapc in a couple of months. Now I'd like to ask this:

What DVB-C card(s) is known to work with MP?. I mean somebody actually uses it everyday with MP.

Hi Markku,

I live in Sulva (10km south of Vaasa in Finland). I use a Technotrend DVB-C C1500 tuner with BDA drivers and the latest CVS with MP 0.2 RC2.
This set up works great accept for sometimes I get the "no signal" message or the "channel is scrambled" message. Also the changing of channel is quite slow.
