    Hmm,

I guess it could theoretically be any component in your system. It is *frustrating* that hardware manufacturers don't seem to test their hardware's support for sleep and hibernate thoroughly...

Does it make a difference if you go to S1 instead of S3?

S1 is theoretically supported by my system (according to dumppo), but i can't find a way to enable it in the BIOS.
Is there a way to switch sleep mode to S1 from XP, or would it have to be through the BIOS?

I figured out how to get the system to use S1 sleep rather than S3 sleep, but it still didn't work reliably coming out of sleep.
I'm not convinced its an issue with the card - i think it may be my hardware setup.

I think that the PCIe bus isn't reinitialised reliably coming out of sleep. I've seen just the display fail coming out of sleep (nvidia uses the same PCIe bus), and also the whole system fail.
The hardware for this KWorld card is resold under other brand names, and I think we'd see more complaining on this forum if all the cards behaved like this.
