Large playlists too slow to open (1 Viewer)

Can MP be any faster on opening large playlists? The playlists I use have usually about 3k titles or more, MP takes about 3 minutes to open such a playlist, which I personally find horribly slow. It just freezes for 3 minutes. It looks like MP reads all tags before actually starting to play. Can it be done in winamp style: play the playlist instantly, read tags only for items currently displayed on the screen (and cache them).

I agree, that would be a great feature.
As it is now the HTPC seems to hang completely and just when you're about to push reset it starts playing.

its the same problem when you want to add a huge folder to a playlist...
