    Synopsis::

I cannot change TV channels on my STB using USBUIRT any more. When I start the TV module, the IR sender of the USBUIRT device blinks, which is ok. From then on, it does not react anymore.

    The MediaPortal.log says:

    Code:
02.06.2006 08:00:13 Main: Creating the USBUIRT device
    02.06.2006 08:00:13 USBUIRT:Open
    02.06.2006 08:00:13 USBUIRT:Open success:Firmware Version: 5.6 (Oktober, 06, 2003)
    02.06.2006 08:00:13 USBUIRT:unable to load values from:UIRTUSB-remote.xml
02.06.2006 08:00:13 Main: Creating the USBUIRT device done

I have deleted this file and relearnt the commands, which did not help.

    I appreciate any help.

What does the contents of the UIRTUSB-remote.xml file look like? Also, does "Configuration.exe-->USBUIRT-->Learn settop box" show all of the commands you taught the USBUIRT or are all of the items un-checked? If you select one of the learned actions does the "Learned Transmit IR Code(s)" groupbox show the learned IR code strings?

Thanks Steve for looking into this.

    1. Well, I can't find a UIRTUSB-remote.xml file (which I did not realize when writing my initial post)
    2. Before posting my issue, I relearnt all commands. After reading your post and checking the commands I saw that some of the learnt commands were not stored correctly. I therefore cleared all learnt commands and relearnt them. After saving the changes and going back to the "Learn settop box commands" dialog, I see that all entries are there. But after closing the config app and going back to that dialog, all IR codes have disappeared. Now I am not able to store any commanc anymore :-(

    Any further suggestions?

    Thanks a lot

    G.

Update on this: I have tried again with success :).

    Here are my findings:

    1. - It seems that there are two different IR codes which USBUIRT learns - long ones and short ones. Depending on the distance between the remote control and the USBUIRT the long ones or the short ones are recorded. I do not know the impact of long vs. short codes.

    2. - When recording, one has to make sure that the recorder records an IR code in each recording step. Otherwise the command is not stored correctly.

    3. - There seems to be an issue with storing the recorded codes: When going back to the "Learn settop box commands" dialog before storing the changes (i.e. closing the config app) the values are not stored. Otherwise they are stored correctly.

Hope this helps some other MP enthusiasts.
