Hello,

I was wondering if the Leadtek Winfast tv2000 card has support for timeshifting. I saw the announcement from earlier in the year stating that is does not. I am still using RC2. Does RC3 have such support.

If not, is there any way I can help?

Thanks.

With some tweaking and configuration, it's "theorhetically" supposed to work.

I never got it to work at all however. :( Due to other issues, I finally had to give up on MP and go back to using BeyondTV. Ironically, BTV handles timeshifting with this card without any problems! :(

Can you describe, or point to, the "tweaking and configuration" that is required to make it work?

    It works just fine.
You have to run the bundled application first and set the recording to MPEG-2 mode.
The drop out & run MP - hey presto, it works!

BTV provides it's own encoders for which you pay for when you buy the product.
Since we're open source we cannot charge for the MPEG-2 encoding licence and hence cannot bundle in encoders.

As easy as that sounds, I couldn't get it to work. :p

    Works for others...

Also ensure your capture framesize is set correctly for the country format.
    i.e. 720x480 for NTSC users.

Yup, set the proper resolution, went through the steps, still didn't work.

It's nice it works for others, however it didn't work for me. Oh well.

I'm happy with my setup now, and when my needs change again I'll definately check to see where MP is at.
