After reading/learning from this forum for the last 12 months, many of the posts I see are to do with "unable to find the answer with a search" and therefore a new post is created. I would like to offer some of my time to contribute to a FAQ based on what is in the forums already with known problems on hardware, software & configurations.

Could someone let me know if this is already handled by someone or if you would like my assistance? If so, is there a wiki sandbox to devise a suitable/practical FAQ for the MP project as there are so many variables/topics to include.

any help in the wiki is highly appreciate!

as you can see on the ::wiki mainpage:: there allready is an FAQ.

but since we now have 3 applications (MediaPortal 1 (currently 0.2.3.0 version, TV-Server (no release version yet) and MediaPortal 2 (only tech-preview released yet) i think that we should group/create the related informations like manuals, faq, troubleshooting, userguides etc. per applications.

so i started to work on a new index page which contains this grouping in a very, very basic way.
New Home test - MediaPortal Wiki Documentation

last year i tried to get some ppl into a "documentations team" which would take care about our wiki (because i can not do everything here ;) ).
but for some reason (lack of sparetime?) nothing realy happened.

so every who is reading this, would you be interested to join the documentations team? :)

    I am also interested

I too am interested in helping to develop the wiki, because I feel I should give something back (and i lack any other usefull skills)

I have written a codec guide for MP, so if you like the way i write just PM me and i will start on it. BTW if you have any specific areas which require attention let me know.
