I am one of your new users - courtesy of free version via PCPlus magazine - very impressed so far.

However, guides do not show how to link up my VHS player although there appears to be a plugin for this which I have tried tgo activate - help!

Not shure if i follow you,,

Do you want to record from it?
if so, I think that wil work if you have a tv-card with hardware mpeg (or something like that) Software cards are no longer supported.

Just go to setup and in to your tv-card,,look around and you wil find it.
Then choose composite/s-video as source.

btw: welcome to the mediaportal world :) best world there is.

Yep, basically add a new channel and flick over to the external tab and it has from stb option which allows you to select svideo or composite input. Then assign the channel to hardware analogue card and you ready to go. If that doesnt work then you can also use the antenna rf passthrough and autotune it in as a real channel.

How do you check it? And why keep it when we have an IMDBID in the database - it's almost 100% guaranteed accurate identification of the film, IMDBURL is just unnecessary information that will clutter the database.

I have never used a Silicon Dust network tuner, but from reading elsewhere I have a recollection that in Silicon Dust's own configuration tool you need to select "MediaPortal" as the output destination (or something like that). So this might be worth checking (just in case I have remembered it correctly). -- from CyberSimian in the UK

That's fun. I shattered my kneecap on one of those e-scooters. I'm terribly out of shape from the months of being bedridden. I didn't get fat, at least, but a walk in the park is not an expression of something being easy anymore.
