If you are getting random stutters and you think it should be working then make sure that thumbnail generation is turned off for TV in the Medialportal Config. This reduced my CPUs from both at 100% to both at 10% for HDTV (with DVXA). If you check the running processes you'll see the mtn process using about 80%.

Will have a play with codec over the next few days i think it only happens when it starts a new timeshift file.? So this card will be fine for future MP relesaes Sapphire ATI HD4670 512MB Ultimate PCIe 11138-15-20R Cant seem to find to many heatsink cards.

Think you'll find it hard to get one of those now. I think Sapphire have stopped making them. HIS has a passively cooled 4670.

Definitely have a crack at tweaking and using better codecs if you can. In the end I got frustrated coz it got a bit like "whack-a mole". Fix one thing, break another. Mediaportal really does give your codec setup and display a good workout. In the end, I just brought the better hardware, and didn't regret it. Check the SAF thread in the codecs and external players section if you are interested in DXVA. Be prepared for a learning curve though if you're not that familiar with codecs.

    That's a good tip too.

Yeah I reckon it would be borderline with 1080i, particularly if you threw h.264 in the mix (and I know thats not we're talking about here with aus tv). See this post from rtv. He thought an 8200 would be troublesome with 1080i and MP 1.0.1 and higher. I'm not completely familiar with the Nvidia cards, but would assume an 8200 has more grunt than a 7800.

Nope. The 7800 is about the same as a 9400/9500gt

Well i seem to have made some head way using CoreAVC Professional Edition 1.9.5 and set it as a post process and set interlace to bob. Will update hardware soon as it still stutters here and there but not as bad as before. Thanks again.
