hello team-MP,

is there a possibility to add live TV web streams in to the TV server?

if have found a site with a collection of LiveTV web streams(webcast) and i want them to add to my TV-server so i can record / watch them.
wwiTV.com - The ultimate guide to Live TV webcasts.
and i also found some LiveTV web streams from my cable provider so now i can replace my old analog tv card for web streams. (in the Netherlands i use Ziggo )
first i had tried to add the channel manual but i cant preview it (maybe its only for radio streams)
i had tried IP-TV whit elecard but i don't have IP-TV and it is not grabbing http:// links

sorry for my English

I read a post of mikeyko, saying it could be done with a directshow source filter that is able to read Mpeg TS streams from network. He uses 'Elecard NWSource-Plus filter', a plugin for Windows Media Player, in Mediaportal TVserver.

    Full post link:

I too am curious if this will allow us to read the webstreams of ZIGGO (NL)... If you have any results, please
post them (so will I when/if I will start experimenting).

    Hy,
Would like to see webstreams running too :)

Partickpol i'm not sure if that's true what you are saying. Maybe i misunderstood you, but just to be clear. Plugin from mikeyko is for iptv which is not the same as webstream. I was searching that topic for anything about webstreams and all i found was somebody congusing those two things.

IPTV is not equal to webstreams.
In the Netherlands you only have KPN IPTV and Tele2 IPTV.
For IPTV you need pay for this, then you be able to watch.

webstreams are streams that everyone can see if you have a internet connection.
Please be patient, until the developer is finished.

I have searched the internet about IPTV, but is confusing. There is a big difference between the youtube like "TV-channels" you can receive for free using something like Joost or 'TV', and the high quality Live TV streams that KPN and Tele2 offer over the ADSL network

What KPN offers is Interactive TV over the ADSL network, but is scrambled, therefore you need a set top box provided by KPN (motorola 1960) and have a modem from KPN. Because the MAC address of both the Motorola and modem is coupled to your internet account, it only works with the motorola you receive from KPN. So when yours is broken and decide to buy one from ebay.. it wont work... I am such a guy that doesnt accept this kind of constraints, and also have the idea "If it comes in via the internet, it must be possible to do something with it in my PC".. but, no, it is not possible with KPN.

As I am not an IT guy(visual basic?.. whats that??), there is also not much I can do about it other then try to find a solution via Google.

I have searched the internet about this for hours, if not days, but havent found anything about KPN i-TV on a PC. KPN uses its own software on te Modem and also there is a lot of authentication going on between the decoder and the modem and the KPN servers themselves. It seems that MAC codes of the equipment is used to authenticate the connections and the descrambling of the IP video streams.

What comes close is a long thread on tweakers.net "[Tele2] MM decoder emulator" and shows that in the past is was possible to connect the decoder and PC to a HUB and the HUB on the modem, it used the decoder to do the authentication, and then you could use VLC player to point to a certain IP adress to watch the Tele2 video stream. But now it seems that Tele2 has upgraded their network security, and all you can see is a scrambled video signal on al channels (lot of stripes and blocks, however you still can recognize the channel you are on).. since that happened the thread is as good as dead..

So what is described here: https://forum.team-mediaportal.com/...nally-working-ip-tv-solution-tv-server-44158/ is not possible for Tele2 and KPN i-TV.

However, I am always open for sugestions.

I am interested in this matter, because Ziggo will introduce CI+ second half next year. This means the FloppyDTVC-CI with Alphacrypt CAM will then probably not work anymore for HD channels.. Right now it works great, so I am searching for solutions up front, changing digital TV provider might be an option. I will open a seperate thread about this, as the CI+ official website has been opened recently.. work to do for the dev's maybe.

    Hi Lotsofjazz,

Any progress on your research about descrambling KPN's IPTV on a Mediacenter? I'm a Ziggo user myself (and I'm confident the CI+ development will not disturb my CI setup for the time being), but as a alternative (we don't have many in The Netherlands) it would be very nice...

    Hi Frank,

No, not really, Since the news came out that Ziggo spokesman said "when CI-Alphacrypt CAM works right now, it will probably keep on working in the future" So I think the CI+ soup is not as hot as it was served

I just wait and see, I do not think it will happen soon the FloppyDTV will stop working.
