[Rejected] Log.Info instead of Log.Error (1 Viewer)

Hi,

It is the "cow-boy", again.
At least someone in the Team will understand what I mean.

Many users ask why they have errors in Error.log file when they use plugins, since a long time.
If I remember correctly, you decided long time ago that MediaPortal.xml should not contains plugins strings.
With this changes, this event is logged as an Info log instead of Error log.
Do you agree with ?

Not really... The primary goal should be to report missing entries to the plugin author and help him to provide a strings file in your language.

Hi rtv,

The problem is if a plugin has it own strings files (ie : %language%/MultiShortcut/strings_xx.xml) to avoid increasing MediaPortal xml strings file.
The only way I can see to avoid this error message is that plugin has to write a string for its ID plugin inside MediaPortal strings_xx.xml itself.
And this, of course, for all existing external plugins.
For example, it doesn't appear for MyExplorer plugin because, string already exist inside the default MediaPortal string xml file :
<String id="100770">Explorer</String>

What do you think about ?
Do you prefer to keep Log.Error ?
Otherwise, could it be possible to envisage accept plugin IDs inside stock MediaPortal xml string files ?
