I am currently a BeyondTV user with no real plans to switch from using it on my HTPC server.
I use BTV Link on another computer in the house and it works well for that application.
However, I have tried BeyondMedia and it doesn't really do what I need it to do so I have been looking for other solutions.
Essentially, I want to set up a client elsewhere in the house that will allow me to play DVDs and recorded shows from BTV.
I've been looking at Mediaportal and was immediately impessed with the way it handled my DVDs. Kudos for that!
However, after searching the forums, I haven't come up with a clear way to handle TV shows.
With BeyondTV Link, you get the same interface as BeyondTV. If you use the web browser interface, an 'ssfp' file is generated when you click on play and it will launch BTV Link and launch the recorded TV show.
I've seen references to programs and plugins that will launch BTV link but I haven't found the documentation with the options I want.
The question is: Can I, on a client PC, set up mediaportal in a way that will allow me to browse my TV shows and launch BTV link to watch them? If so, how?
