Lost ability to play multiple audio streams (1 Viewer)

I have lost the ability to play videos with multiple audio streams between one viewing and the next. If I press play, it only plays a single audio track, and doesn't even acknowledge that the other tracks exist. It worked a few days ago, and now it doesn't, with no change (on my part anyway) to the system.

Any thoughts? It's driving me nuts.

Be sure to describe *exactly* what you did.
Also, please describe *exactly* what you mean by "doesn't even acknowledge that the other tracks exist".

Without the above info it is almost impossible to help you.

We've been watching Star Trek episodes ripped to mkv with dual audio. I have been able to switch between the main audio & the score/sfx-only audio by pressing the letter "a". Tonight when playing the episode, only the score/sfx track plays, and pressing "a" does nothing. Even on episodes we just successfully watched.

To try to fix it, I have updated MediaPortal, StreamedMP, MP TVSeries and Haali to their most recent versions. I then tried to play the file in Media Player Classic because I was more interested in watching my show than doing investigative work, but even there it only showed one audio stream available, so I'm wondering if a codec has become corrupt or something, but I can't figure it out. The files play fine on any other pc in the house.

MediaInfo can often be problematic.

What I suggest you do...
You can see above we're using MediaInfo 0.7.61.
Try downloading the latest version (0.7.62) from the website linked above and see if that version picks up multiple audio tracks in your file.
You can also get older versions of MediaInfo from here:
http://www.videohelp.com/tools/MediaInfo/old-versions

If/when you find one that works, you can just replace the MediaInfo.dll in the MediaPortal install directory.

With the exact same file?
I could understand MP consistently not picking up multiple audio tracks in particular files due to MediaInfo...
...but I couldn't explain MP picking up the tracks one day and not the next for the same file.
