Anyway, i made my own IR receiver and using WinLIRC. It works fine, but the problem that i am having now, when i use IREx (extension to WinLIRC to launch a program when a button is clicked) to launch Media Portal, the fps of the UI is about 8-10 fps. However, when i press, say windows button and re-select the media portal, the performance goes back to normal, fps ~= 30 (because i set it to 30fps). Or, when i launch Media Portal normally, the fps is also ~= 30. Does anyone has any idea on what's causing this problem? I cannot actually see if there is anything (say IREx) is eating up the CPU usage or anything because the moment i click CTRL+ALT+DEL the performance is back to normal (because i have selected another window, then back to media portal).
