Hello,

I have a problem with my card and MP - when choosing "my tv" and viewing the cahnnels - the picture gets stuck all the time, showing a frame here and there but that's it. MP itself gets leggy as hell, about 4 seconds between button press and until the app responds. CPU Usage is 100% on the MP.
i tried enabling and disabling the exclusive directx mode, switch between all of the video & audio codecs, nothing works.

Please advise if there is anything i can do about it at all...

Thanks!

hey there, your CPU is not too powerful, but MP can offload the graphics work to the video card. the only thing you really need to do this is to use a codec than has this function.
You are using the default MPV which doesn't have the function.
My advice is to install WinDVD or PowerDVD (even the trial versions should work) then use those codecs for TV viewing.
They have support for Gfx hardware acceleration.

Try that as a first and simple fix and post back if no luck...

My MP hardware configuration is lower than yours and I have pretty good performance. You should post a log !

If your TV-card is SW-based, then there it is....

    damnit i knew i shoud've paid a little more and get a pvr150..
the card works great with the supplied software, isn't there anything i can do in order to make it work on MP?

i've tried getting other mpeg2 decoders, ffdshow shows some improvment but still not watchable, is there a codec that uses the GPU which is free and can be downloaded from www.free-codecs.com or similiar sites?

    Another update..
Installed WinDVD 7.3, and using it's codec still produces same results.
funny thing is that i only get that behaviour in MP, on other programs like winDVR and ChrisTV everything's working fine, but ofcourse none of them has all the cool features MP does so i don't wanna give up just yet :)
