AMD fusion Dual-Core Processor E-350 at 1.6GHZ with AMD Radeon™ HD 6310 Graphics + 4GB RAM.

.m4v play fine when using windows media player, but in media portal they play for only a moment, staggering. looks like they only try to use the CPU and not the GPU inside media portal. I've tried installing klite mega and changing to use FFDshowDXVA codec for h.264 decoding but it still doesn't work.

.mp4 works fine inside and outside media portal.

Sounds like a codec issue, how is your playback of .mkv files?

Which codec you using, i would suggest SAF, i'm using it and i dont have any problem with playing .m4v files

it is actually a codec problem.
But imo not due to the codec...

If without MP one can play all files with any app (ex. vlc, wmp, mpc, etc) then all codecs are as they should be
if when entered in MP, certain files (of certain extensions) will not play, then it is the player inside MP that does not accept certain codecs for some reason.

ergo, codecs work, just not within MP, then the problem is why isnt the codec picked up or used in MP for playing.

have the same issue in playback for all .flv
and i dont want a nightmare amount of codecs installed...
coreavc/haali/flvsplitter/ac3filter
these are, imo, the best to use for optimal performance.
and although all files with any extension can be played in any player (vlc, wmp, mpc)
once in MP, all flv files will not play.

weirdest thing... cos without altering the codecs
the 1 thing that DID change was the MP updates, and also skin updates for StreamedMP
In the 1.1.0 Mp i was able to play the flv's, and since some time, i can't anymore...
