Alright, bear with me please...
I'm a building a HTPC that has two main purposes - viewing movies, tv shows, etc using Media Portal AND it also functions as a touch screen jukebox using a program called "Album Player" (which if you haven't checked out you really should - it's a fantastic app)
My hardware is as follows:
Mac Mini C2D running bootcamp 1.4 and XP SP2
a DVI->Svideo adapter is feeding my TV
an IOGEAR USB to VGA adapter is powering my 17" GVision touchscreen (since the mini only has 1 video out)
As crazy as this setup might sound, it works perfect (after some initial banging my head against the wall of course)
My only problem is as follows...
In order for the Touchscreen to function properly it must be the Primary Monitor. If it is not, all touches on the screen register on the other monitor (which obviously makes it useless). So when I am using my jukebox software it needs to be the primary monitor.
When I run Media Portal 0.2.3.0 RC2 and set it to launch on my secondary monitor (which uses the intel 945 chipset drivers to power the TV at 800x600) I cannot play video. When I click on a TS file in My Video it simply clicks and nothing happens. If I switch my primary monitor back to the Intel chipset and launch Media Portal, everything is honky dory and runs just fine. I have tried running WMP on the IOGEAR monitor and it does, in fact, support DVD playback...
I know that I'm probably the only person in the world with this setup and predicament. And there is an easy enough work around... just switch the primary monitor depending on the application I need... but I was wondering if anyone knew of any other solutions that would not require me to do this (as it does also render the touchscreen useless).
Unfortunately I'm a bit of a noob and don't know how to post any type of log or system info, but I will gladly do that if it helps (and someone can tell me how).
Thanks in advance for any assistance that someone might be able to provide.
David
