I'd also like to do this.  I want to be able to launch Mame32 but I dont need MP to show me a list of the roms; I just want to be able to start the damn program with one simple click.  With MCE all I had to do is place a shortcut in the Media Center Apps folder on the start menu.  Is there really no way to do this with Media Portal?
