Want media portal to control more like XBMC? Tired of using external programs like Pinnacle Game Profiler and joytokey to map your favorite pad to the keyboard?
Look no further, this is the config you need. With this you will have the familiar XBMC controls on your PC with your xbox/360/ps2 based pad connected.
Install Instructions
====================================================================================
Extract the archive, directories intact to you Mediaportal root dir
creates the config file in [Mediaportal/InputDeviceMappings\custom\DirectInput.xml]
if you have one overwrite it, you wont need it after this.
(For those who dont know to connect a xbox pad to pc you can just splice the wires and match the colors, or buy an adapter
like i did for lik-sang.)
For xbox pads you should be using XBCD drivers 1.07
http://www.redcl0ud.com/xbcd.html#v107
for 360 pad owners you will need the both the above driver 1.07 and the modified XBCD driver patch as well

install intructions for the drivers are there
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
although this will work with any direct input device just be aware that I assume the buttons are layed out as follows
most of the logitech joysticks for the pc copy xbox or ps2's layout so you should be fine with those too
just map your buttons as follow in your control panel
PS2 = xbox button = Dinput Windows Button #
dpad = POV Hat
X = A = 1
O = B = 2
Square = X = 3
Tri. = Y = 4
L1 = LB/whi. = 5
R1 = RB/Blk. = 6
L2 = LTrig = 7
R2 = RTrig = 8
select = back = 9
start = 10
LS = LS = 11
LS = RS = 12
as long you set your buttons up like this in control panel you will be fine.
ps2 controls are similar to 360 layout so it will work with that too
===================================================================================
Improvements to standard XBMC layout
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Important Controls lised below
1) when in playlist screen, the "Left analog stick" moves items up and down the playlist, dpad moves around as usual
2) in fullscreen video mode A=play/pause, [LB/white]=skip back, [RB/black]=skip forward
3) in picture mode LT/RT controls zoom while, [LB/white]=prev pic, [RB/black]=next pic
4)[LStick] button takes screenshots just like XBMC!! Default Save dir is [My Pictures\MediaPortal Screenshots]
5)[Rstick] shuts down Media Portal, dont click it by accident
as I said everything else should be exactly like XBMC, so if you have an xbox with XBMC installed you should feel right at
home with media portal now. If you dont, ....well....just trust me...hehe =)
