First of all I'd like to congratulate the MediaPortal team on a great piece of software which I have been using for just over a week now on my new HTPC. What a fantastic piece of kit.

Where I live (UK) I am unable to use DTV-T due to geography so rely on DTV-S for TV reception. MediaPortal picked up my Hauppauge HVR3000 card without any problems and on scanning for new channels found all of those expected (over 400) except BBC THREE/CBBC and CITV. I have attempted to add these manually using the MP config tool in Television->Channels->Add and adding the PIDs, PCR and other info which I manage to obtain. However, on trying to select them for viewing in MP, a window pops up reporting that the tuner is unable to access the channel. I notice that no equivalent database file (binary) appears for the channel in MP's DB folder.

Am I doing something wrong? I'm pretty sure that I have the PIDs and PCR info correct. Why might MP not pick up TV channels on the same frequency as other streams it does find? Any help on this would be much appreciated.

Wondering now whether to log this as a bug as it seems related to the entry made by sciDoctor here which mentions not being able to edit channels. Could also apply to adding new ones...?

Have managed to sort out my problem.

It seems that MP configuration requires that you press the 'OK' button having added a channel and be careful not to go on to carry out further operations (this goes for other config options too). If you do, it loses the channel information. And they all work! :D

Am still very impressed with MP.

Might be nice for you to do a step by step as im sure others will face this situation with new channels being added constantly and re-tuning being a pain.
Where did u get the relevent pids etc?
