Map DVB-S EPG to a different channel (1 Viewer)

I'm, using last MP with last SVN, Tv tuner Hauppauce HVR-4000

I use DVB-S in Italy to see FTA channels
I use RAI4 (that is however encrypted, but EPG is free to use) frequency to get "week-length" EPG for these FTA channels.
It works but not for all channels.

I know the problem: the EPG is for channels with different "real name" !
I have
"RAI 1" channel that is FTA
"RAIUno" channel is identical but encrypted and the EPG is mapped to that frequency/chn name.

I would ask if possible to map the EPG for "RaiUno" (enctrypted) to the other channel "Rai 1" (FTA)

Changing the channel name in TV Server doesn't help, because it's the displayed name, not the internal name used for the EPG match. In fact in the 2007 was made a change in MP in order to separate the channel name into "real channel name" (used for EPG) and "displayed name" to avoid problem with EPG matching ...

If the match between EPG data and relative channel is done with internal "real channel name" ... can I change this value directly in SQL DB with an UPDATE query ?

Bye

Noone ?

I make question simpler ...

IF DVB-S send EPG info for channel named "X" ... can I map to channel "Y" of the same tv tuner ?
Is it possible to do it by changing internal SQL channel name ?

Thanks

no replies at all ?

I explain what's the problem:
there are many italian DVB-S channels transmitted at the same time both FTA and encrypted in different channels.
Example, the RAI channel is present both encrypted but also FTA.
The same for Rai1 Rai3 Canale5 and others ....
I have no CI module, I use and view only FTA ones
The problem is that I can receive EPG data but thay are linked to the encrypted channel, so the TV guide for the FTA channel is empty.
Reading inside DB I see program table filled, but channelID is the encrypted one (it's ok, may be the PMT data match the enctrypted chn)

Can I remap in some way the EPG that's linked to the encrypted chn to the FTA chn so I can see it in the tv guide ?
I know there is channel mapping (just for EPG) but it works for same channel in different tuners, but I have same channel in that same tuner !!

Please let me know ..

Bye

    Hi,

I just need same thing. Any possibbility? I guess that will be a very good option for future MP reliases.

    Hi ssenyer

This is not possible at the moment, however I confess that I would also like to see this added to the EPG grabber. The tricky thing is doing it with a good user interface I think. I would also like to give the ability to find out what kind (EIT, MHW, Freesat etc.) and length (now/next, 7 days, 14 days etc.) of EPG is available from a transponder, and for which channels...

Anyhow, if your situation is the same as Hivanoe's you could try to combine the two "versions" of the channel to get the data mapped to the FTA channel. Otherwise please explain the situation in more detail and I may be able to offer a different workaround.

Yes, you can. Map the two channels and MP will use the EPG for one and you will see the picture from second one.

In my system I watch the channels from an analog card the grab the epg from dvb-t (encrypted) card.

    Hi mm,

I have 1 TV card with 2 turners. Both turners connected same satellites in same order

    AA...42E Turksat 3C
    AB...13E Hotbird
    BA...07E Eutelsat 3W

So i have 2 of all channels :)

    For example channel ATV;

i have 1 ATV at 42E (without epg) and 1 ATV at 07E (with epg) in 1 turner...With both turners i have 4 ATV channels. The channels with epg are scrambled ones, others are FTA.

I read wiki but unfortunately i confused with mapping and combination thinks  I was able to map epg info to right channel but when i tried to watch it MP inform me about "there is no free turner" to watch it

    I ll keep trying

You have to 2 tuners. X channel from tunner 1, Y (epg) from tuner 2.

    Hi

For a start, you should only start with two channels - one from 42e and one from 7e. Scan the channels in with one tuner and then link them to the second tuner using mapping. There should only be one ATV channel from 42e and one from 7e that way.

Can either of your tuners decrypt?
