Synopsis::

Hi all,

I have been using Media Center for a good few months now and have finally got fed up with the problems and limitations that it has.

I then stumbled across Media Portal and thought I would like to give this a try out to see how I get on with it, the only thing is at this point I am having some troubles getting the remote working.

Under the configuration I have set the MCE remote option ON but under the USBUIRT it tells me it there is no USBUIRT device detected although I am using the MCE 2005 Remote and the Remote receiver that came with it and it has all been working fine under Windows Media Center.

So my question is, is this a problem because I am using Windows Media Center edition and it uses differnnt drivers for the IR receiver? or is it something silly that I am missing.

I have searched for this and have seen problems listed but not this one, any help is greatfully received.

:::EDIT:::
I have just found this in my Log file
08/05/2006 15:26:33 add USBUIRT section
08/05/2006 15:26:33 USBUIRT:Open
08/05/2006 15:26:33 USBUIRT:uuirtdrv.dll not found
So where do I get the uuirtdrv.dll from?

OK, so will the MCE IR Receiver work? if so do I need to go down the HID or Girder route? As I need the IR Blasters to change my STB's

Neither of both. Just enable it and it works. For using the blaster just get the MyBlaster plugin. You can download it in our download section on the homepage. I'm not using it, so if you got problems there someone else has to jump in here.

    If you want MediaPortal to start from the Green Button you will need to install mptray, again available from the download section.

    mPod, I can't find the myBlaster plugin. Could it be called something else? What about the MCE remote driver for XP Home/Pro? Is this necessary?

    If you had it working in MCE then you shouldnt need to install any drivers or extra software for it to work in MP.

    Edit: As long as they are the normal remote drivers and not the modified ones Ive seen floating around.

    Thanks then everyone.

    I think I have it working to a certain extent anyway until I can play abit more.

    Now I just need to work out how to setup 2 Hauppauge 150MCE cards which I will search on but if I get stuck I will post somewhere.

    Thanks again :)
