Hi,

I'm struggling here and hoping someone might be able to point me in the right direction.

I have purchased a Europe MCE remote v2 - it somes with a USB IR reciever with 2 IR Blaster buds. I am trying to get this to work with MP but cannot work out what it is I am meant to do.

I have tried searching the forum for references to this device- and I can find a load of links dated over a year ago. All seem to suggest I need a plugin called MyBlaster - and I can't find a link, or the plugin anywhere.

can anyone (please) point me in the right direction - or tell me what I have missed ?

I want to use this to control an external NTL Cable TV box in the UK (I believe this uses RC5 codes) and can find Pronto codes for this - but can't work our what to do with them. Playing with the SW is a bit painful as MP is that good that my misses has already asked me to connect the MP box to the TV - so it's running a horrible resolution (720x576) so the Windows screens are painful .

Thanks :D

Mark

You haven't missed anything, MyBlaster plugin is what you need.

If you don't end up finding where to get the latest version, i can send you the version of MyBlaster i use for my foxtel blasting... just send me a PM with your email address.

having the same problem here i got hauppauge mce 150 blaster is not enabled in the hauppauge software no device present.
as far as i can see the plugin just points you to the software that comes with the blaster.
i am running it under windows xp pro and it is designed for mce so i suppose i am stuck as i wont be changing to mce.
got the ir remote working straight away its the just the blaster that is a problem

this link is from the thread listed above:

[EDIT]: link removed; download from the plugin repository on the homepage now.

Here are my quick and dirty instructions:

    unzip to your MediaPortal folder

    run blaster.exe

make it learn all your buttons from your STB remote

check in 'Setup MediaPortal' confguration app -> Plugins -> Process Plugins that the 'My Blaster' plugin is Enabled by right clicking it.

from your cable service channel lineup set the appropriate channel numbers that need to be blasted, in the channel list for each channel in MP config app too... way too many 'channels' there but hey...

you should be good to go, the bud should flash when you change to external channels in MP now if its configured right

it works !!!! (don't really know why I am surprised at this)

Many thanks - downloaded that - and everything is easy, don't know why I had so many problems downloading the file.

Dumb question/suggestion - would it not make sense to include MyBlaster in the list of downloadable plugins ? that was the first place I looked and I only found out about it at all after searching the forum for old messages. I would guess there are quite a few people who purchased this remote package (it's on ebay for aroud £27 - making it just about the cheapest way to get hold of a remote and a blaster/receiver combo).

Thanks for a great product - and fantastic support from everyone, I do not know of any commercial products (in any field) that have such a responsive team.
