Hi All,

Over the last four days I've downloaded an installed Media Portal on a dedicated PC in the loungeroom. Been impressed with it's interface and general ease of set-up.

I've run into what appears to be quite a common problem. Not all of my remote buttons work. mainly play/pause, stop, rewind, fast fwd, skip fwd, skip back. The esc, tab, enter, arrows, numbers, mouse buttons, power and close buttons all work as expected.

More then anything else I would just like the play/pause and stop buttons to work.
the remote looks identical to this

I've tried, Intelliremote (can't even get the red light to flash)
HIP
Event Ghost
numerous key mappers and can't get anything to work.... frustrating...

Intelliremote cam with a program called HID Device Tester and it can detect the button presses but I just can't seen to figure out how to map them to anything usefull, I've tried changing the xml files to reflect the output in the HID Device Tester and still no joy!

The output is below:
MCE : string = 'CD 00 00';
MCE : string = '00 00 00';
MCE : string = '00 00 00';
MCE : string = 'B5 00 00';
MCE : string = '00 00 00';
MCE : string = '00 00 00';
MCE : string = 'B7 00 00';
MCE : string = '00 00 00';
MCE : string = '00 00 00';
MCE : string = 'CB 00 00';
MCE : string = '00 00 00';
MCE : string = 'CA 00 00';
MCE : string = '00 00 00';

Has anyone else successfully set up the remote I am using or am I just wasting my time?

    In short.. wasting your time.

    I have one of these and never had any success getting it to work with MP.

    Have also tried mapping it to XBMC also, using event ghost, girder, intelliremote, etc - no joy.

    It registers as HID device, not ehome device, which means its not a proper MCE remote.

    If you use a 'real' mce remote you will have no problems. They are dead-simple to use with MP.
