MCE or not MCE (1 Viewer)

Hi all - just a quick question.
I'm going to try and obtain a Hauppage PVR-150 card (assuming the wife releases the funds!), but I was wondering if the MCE vs the non-MCE edition makes a difference?

I intend to run it on XP Sp2 (Non MCE), but I've spotted an MCE card out there for a nice price, and wonder if I need to spend the extra to get a "vanilla" card? Is there something MCE specific about the MCE card that I cannot get to work on XP SP2?

Hope that makes sense!

Cheers,
Rich.

I had the same dilemma when I was first setting up my pc. I ended up getting the MCE version as it was cheaper. I can say it works perfectly well under XP SP2 and MP picks it up during setup, so there's not a lot you need to do apart from install it.

I coupled the card with a MCE remote and haven't looked back! :D

If you do have any problems, I believe you can use the "vanilla" card drivers with the MCE version of the card. I haven't tried this though, as it just worked.
