MCE Reciver and other remote (1 Viewer)

Hi

I have a "build in" MCE reciver in my HTPC. And that works very well. But I wish to use another type remote. Say the old xbox remote. When trying to learn codes nothing happens. The reciver will only recieve commands from the MCE remote...

Any Idea how to enable it to recieve other commands???

The old Xbox remote isn't compatible with the code in the current version of the replacement plugin, but the next version will support that remote as an alternative remote.

Assuming your receiver is 100% compatible then you should have no problems when the new version comes out.

Stay tuned. Should be within a week or two.

I tried the IR server suite, will this be the new version or is a new version of the replacement plugin on the way?

I will be more than happy to do some testing if nessesery.

Do you have the technical differences between the two types of codes? Just names, then I can look it up myself.

The MCE Remote uses RC6, the Xbox 1 remote uses RCA.

RCA is supported (and working here) in the next version.

IR Server Suite will be first to feature the new code and should have a new test version available within a couple of days. MCE Replacement Plugin needs a lot of work and will follow within a week or two.

The new version of IR Server Suite is now available here:

It has support for additional IR protocols, which now means it will work with the following IR protocols:

JVC, NCE, RC5, RC6, RCA, RECS80, the MCE keyboard protocol (does anyone know if this is an official protocol with a name?) and Sony SIRC (15-bit).

With plans to support ITT, NRC17, RCMM, Sharp and XSat protocols (if possible) in the future.

MCE Replacement plugin will be updated after the new interfacing method has been proven in the IR Server Suite. So that will probably be a month or so.
