Hey folks.. I just purchased an MCE remote which came with the USB IR reciever today. the IR reciever is not showing up in device manager at all - not even an unknown device. I have tried multiple usb ports - and no go.. Im not sure where to go from here - has anyone gotten this to work in windows xp pro? I have service pack 3 installed.

Are you sure it is not there, it should be under "USB-Controllers", and should be labled "eHome Intrared Reciever"

If its not there then the remote is broken, or your USB-ports dont work correctly....

Have you tested your usb ports with anything else???

Windows should find and install the drivers for it no problem

I had some issues with MCE remote before. I had a stripped down version of XP, and it did not recognize the remote receiver. I installed XP sp2 again, it fixed the problem.
