    Hi all,
I have told MP that I am using an MCE remote and some of the buttons work, but back doesn't and niether do the VTR controls like play, stop etc, Come to think of it, the guide/music etc. buttons don't either. Is there a downloadable configuration or a step by step guide because I fond the remote setup in the config pages quite (very) confusing and all my fiddling around hasn't led to anything better than what I have.

If you're using a certified MCE remote, it should work. These are the steps I used:
    1) Plug in the infrared receiver. Windows automatically detects it. Remote's cursor keys and OK button should work in a browser.
    2) Try using the green MCE button, it should pull up Media Center. All keys should be functional at this point.
    3) Open MP configuration and click remotes. Under Microsoft MCE I check the box. Mapping will allow you to customize keys later.
    4) In MP configuration under 3rd party checks, I disabled Media Center Services and enabled the autostart, so now the green button starts MP.

If you're not using a certified MCE remote, you could try using IRTrans instead, under configuration. You may have to map buttons yourself.
If that still doesn't work, the IRSS plugin is pretty much guaranteed to work, but takes a lot of configuration. You can basically map any existent button to do anything possible, though.
