I got this weird problem since I installed Mediaportal RC2. I'll try to sum

- Since I installed RC2 my remote didn't work in mediaportal, just the standard MCE buttons.
- I copied the "InputDeviceMappings\custom\MCE Replacement.xml" file from a backup to the new installation.
- Now everything seemed to work fine.
- But now changing the button mappings doesn't have any effect in mediaportal.
- When I test the blasting in the MP settings, nothing happens. But when i blast in mediaportal it works fine.
- The only thing that does have effect, is when I change multimapping change button.
- The InputDeviceMappings.xml filedate does change when I change the settings, so it does write something to this file. Also when I change the settings, they don't reset when I close MP configuration.

So somehow mediaportal keeps using the old settings I backed up. But I cant change these. Is there anything I can try to fix this?

    oh, ok, I see what's happening ...

It's using the wrong file path.

I'll make a change and put a new version up in about a week. Hopefully sooner.

I'm also changing the way the MCE Replacement Plugin interacts with the device and this will take a little while to finish.

    Thanks for the feedback.

    Thx allot!

But can you tell me what the right filepath is? So i can just manually move the MCE Replacement.xml file to that location temporarily...

P.S: If I use IR Server Suite, there is no need for the MCE replacement plugin right? Does IR Server Suite automaticly use the MCE replacement settings?

Can you take a look in your MediaPortalDirs.xml file and let me know too ?

Yes, that will work in the meantime.

P.S: If I use IR Server Suite, there is no need for the MCE replacement plugin right?

    That's right.

Does IR Server Suite automaticly use the MCE replacement settings?

No, you'd have to reconfigure. But the .IR files are compatible... I don't think the Macro files are, because not all the commands are the same ... but they might.

    Cheers,

Hm, the path in the "MediaPortalDirs.xml" seems right... I've attached it for you to look at (along with the "MCE Replacement.xml")

I hope this helps... if there is anything else you need, just let me know

I am yet to reproduce the error myself.

Do a search on your computer for files named "MCE Replacement.xml" and see if there are any other copies.

You could then copy over it.

I'll see if I can get to the bottom of it, but so far I've not had any luck.

There is a new version coming soon.

    Cheers,

    Cool,

I was starting to get really worried! :)

Well at least I will know to ask people that in future if it happens again.

    Cheers,
