Here the idea:

i have 2 pocketpc based devices
one windows mobile 5 and a newly bought windows mobile 6

I've found an application named Rudeo MCE Remote.

According to the makers this program simulates the mce remotes every button.
it's based upon one client side which you install in your pocketpc device, the server side is installed on
the computer. a small app that acts like an server.

2 ways to connect:
Either over activsync(usb cable/bluetooth) or if your device has wifi.

i'm writing this cos maybe someone else here is interessed doing something simular.
the rudeo application nags if it isn't installed on a MCE windows version. but i've not
had the time to go through it more firmly. might just be s setting.

and if this type of remote is going to work with mediaportal i don't know.

would be awsome if team.mediaportal made their own pocketpc based bluetooth remote ;)

Try a search of the forum, I'm pretty sure someone's already made such a program.

Failing that you could try IR Server Suite, it has a program called Web Remote in it that serves a simple web page that your pocket pc could navigate to. The web page shows a remote and allows you to simulate button presses through the IR Server Suite.

I'm pretty sure there is a Bluetooth pocket pc solution already available in the forum, so try that first. If you don't have any success and you do try IR Server Suite, let me know how you get on.

    Hope that helps,
