Hi there,

this is my first post... I have recently built my HTPC. I decided to go with MP. Everything works great, with the exception of my MCE Remote. Only the very basic buttons do any thing. I can navigate through menu's and select menu items OK (using the direction buttons and the OK button), but anything else (i.e. back button, channel buttons, volume buttons, play, stop, ff, rew etc.) does nothing at all...

Have I missed something...? I have checked all the button mappings and they appear to be ok, but no luck...

Any help would be great...

Cheers,
smeghead

    Are you sure that you have a genuine Microsoft MCE remote? The genuine one works "straight out of the box" with MediaPortal.

    BTW - as this is a support query, and not a "Tips and Tricks", I have moved it to the correct forum.....Hardware Support.

    thanks for that...

    Well I think it is a philips MCE remote. It bundled with the VFD I bought...

    It is exactly the same (looking) as the one that appears in the configuration wirard within MP...

    Looking at your specs you have the Origin VFD with IrTrans.
    If your MCE remote is working via the IrTrans receiver than you need to load MP0.2RC4 plus the latest SVN (26/5/06 or newer) plus the IrTrans Plugin.

    The versions before that date will only support the navigation button on your remote.

    I gave all of your suggestions a go...

    Unfortunately I am still having no luck...

    Steps I took:

    1. Updated to SVN to: mediaportal-svn-05-30-2006--09-37
    2. Installed ITransPlugin
    3. Enabled plugin in configuration

    When I start MP and check the error.log file the following message is there:

    5/30/2006 8:19:50 PM Unable to start plugin:IrTransPlugin.IrTransPlugin exception:confused:ystem.TypeLoadException: Could not load type 'MediaPortal.InputDevices.InputHandler' from assembly 'Core, Version=1.0.2341.15407, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=null'.
    at IrTransPlugin.IrTransPlugin.Start()
    at MediaPortal.GUI.Library.PluginManager.Start()

    Any ideas?

    Thanks in advance...

    You need a slightly older svn version, there was an internal change in mp in the last svn versions that causes this. I tried hard not to change it, but there was no other way to fix a bug in the mapper.

    As soon as HWahrmann will update the IRTrans plugin again (no big deal, just a namespace change), it will be working with later SVN versions again. Sorry for that.

    smeghead,

    I ran into the same problem last night updating to the latest SVN (30-05-06), nothing works.

    I'm using the SVN of 28-05-06 now and that works fine. Just download that version of the SVN and you'll be OK.
