I was just going to suggest trying "Administrator" due to this: "or you may not have permission to access them" in you eventlogs, but OK you already tried that.

Can you maybe generate new logs under the Admin user and post it here?

    hi Everyone

Still trying to get MP to run.

I have downloaded and tried to use the skin recommended for the ATI 690 Graphics ( SpinSafe revolve) with the flipy=false

I have also uninstalled the ATI Grapics Driver and installed the ATI 7.2.

Even tried with no driver at all.

    Attached is the latest File

Also i noticed and error Globalcatchkeys.dll - what is this???

    Thanks Wayne

    Hi All

Decided to perservere with Media portal and my ASUS M2A-VN HDMI Mobo with 690G and x1250 Chipsets - FINALLY GOT IT GOING on both XP and Vista - Took a week with 6 Rebuilds - looks like the main issue is the Catalyst Control Centre - do not install
I have also found that if you install CCC and remove it you will still have problems!!!!

    XP - SP2

Downloaded and Install ASUS BIOS 1802
Downloaded and Installed 7.2 ATI Drivers - Do Not install the CCC - Video drivers Only
    Downloaded and Installed .Net 3.5
Downloaded and Installed KLLite Codecs for XP
    Installed Media Portal RC1

All Skins seem to work well

    On Vista32

Downloaded and Install ASUS BIOS 1802 - Already done with the XP install
Downloaded and Installed 8.6 Vista ATI Drivers - Do Not install the CCC - Video drivers Only
    Downloaded and Installed VistaCodecs_v468
    Installed MediaPortal RC1

All Skins work and seems to run well.

Hope this helps anyone who has had the same issues.

    Wayne
