media keys (play/pause stop) don't work when itunes is running. (1 Viewer)

Hi..

I have an hama mce remote control and the media keys are no longer working in mediaportal when itunes is running in background. Somehow itunes filters all the events that are sent by pressing these keys and mediaportal doesn't recognize them anymore. Is there a known solution how you can disable the media key usage by itunes?? Closing Itunes isn't a solution, because my devices, like the apple tv rely on the itunes media server.

I had the same problem with itunes and media portal. Eventghost in combination with the eventghost Auvisio VRC plugin (eventghost installs a new driver for the remote, when the plugin is selected) allows the free configuration of each key of the hama mce remote (including the media keys).

Notice: Eventually you will loose the mouse functionality of the remote..

Thank you for the information, using that auvisio driver worked great for me and now itunes doesnt jump all over my IR input like a greedy pig.
