Media Player Install (1 Viewer)

Hi guys and happy new year.

I am trying for the second time to use mediaportal . Through the installation it was keep on asking for the wp11 but i didnt want to install it. Finally i point at the wmp9 but when the mediaportal started it asked me again the media player and then crash.

Why is this necessary ( i mean the media player 11) . is there any workaround for use it with the media player 9 ?

Unfortunately this is a requirement, personally have not used for years, but have no objection to it being on my pc.
