Hello

I'm thinking about building an home theater with HTPC and, of course, Media portal. I've download the program and been looking and playing with it a little but the thing is that in my home theater im going to put in a X10 home automation system. Now i'm wondering if someone here knows if media portal supports X10, and how "long" you can go with the applications, like if it can be totally integrated in media portal, or just some few things, and if so which ones?

Thanks for answer and sorry if my english spelling is a little bad!

It's an interesting point - the thing that got me really interested in HTPC was a Youtube video showing a demonstration of Linux MCE v Windows MCE, and X10 home automation seemed to be a major part of the demo. When a DVD played, the lights in the room dimmed, the curtains were drawn etc. All slightly over the top, but an impressive show case, none the less.

I think the answer to your question might be that you could launch your X10 control application from Media Portal - I can't imagine what else you would want, other than things like integration with a phone system so that the music mutes when the phone rings, the curtains draw when a DVD plays etc?
