As you can imagine my ads have been reported many times to ebay, however, they conform to eBay rules, so they always stay. I have personally decided to make changes to the ads because of the confusion people were having. No, I'm not doing anything wrong. Nor am I doing anything morally wrong. Besides, what is moral? There is no real definition, it is an interpretation by one person. Do I feel like I am doing something immoral? No, not at all! I mean, would you feel immoral for expressing your FREEDOM of speech (if you live where such freedoms exist)? No, of course you wouldn't. The fact is, I do have the FREEDOM to use this software and distribute it for a cost and profit (even if they are razor thin or non existent). This is my FREEDOM and RIGHT! You can flame me in forums but you can't take away my FREEDOM. (sorry, getting braveheartish) I think people here have no clue what the GPL and FSF are all about. This community (or at least the ones doing all the flamming) have no idea what the spirit of this software (MediaPortal) and other GPL software really is. It's the FREEDOM from closed source software. The FREEDOM to be able to have the source code and do what ever you want with it. Take it and modify it, use it in a business, use it as a base for other software development, or Box it up and sell it. This is your FREEDOM! I choose to enact my FREEDOM. Remember it's about FREE SPEECH not free beer. When the software license says I can sell this software, then I guess I can sell the software. The founding fathers of the FSF & GPL encourage people to sell and profit from GPL software! Yes, many programmers have put in many hours of hard work on this program without pay! I'm fully aware of this, I'm a programmer myself! However, they obviously understand the spirit of the GPL and FSF. THIS IS NOT ABOUT MONEY! It's about FREEDOM! These guys put in countless hours programming because it's what they LOVE TO DO! The fulfillment comes when someone says, "WOW, that is a bad ass program! You made that?". If they were doing it for the money, they would not be writing GPL software. What you fail to see is each person that buys a copy is a potential new member, a new face, a new member to the community. Who knows maybe that person will one day be a part of the MP community helping it's further development.
