    Hi there,

The codecs do not affect the format/size of the file.

The file is being saved as a raw transport stream (TS file). The codec/splitters are purely used to play the TS file.

The only thing that affects the size of the TS file is the resolution/quality of the broadcast.

The only option you have with MePo, is to use a third party plugin/app to convert the TS file into another compressed format (Depending on how "techie" you are there are many programs to use, some ranging from quite simple/pretty eg:MCEBuddy, to others which are purely commandline based eg:ffmpeg, etc)

Do a search on here or a google search...

    Thanks,

    J.
