Media Portal in the web application (1 Viewer)

Hi ,

I am ramakrishna, I would like to know if there is any way to launch the media portal in the client machine served by the web server. I mean, we have a set of videos placed in some server and get it invoke from that server and display in the media portal. Besides we have a "TV" and some other "Weather" details option also. Imagine a guest sitting in room with a remote in his hand and served. Because media portal has a very rich user friendly gui rather than doing it in a normal application

Please let me know your valuable suggestions .

If I understand correctly, you want to have Videos on a Server somwhere, then a Client machine running MP that accesses these videos?

If so, you simply put the videos on the Server, make a share, and access the share from the Client machine unning mediaportal.

Thanks for your suggestion!
I thought of doing the same but my point is when the user chooses a video, then my web app/media portal should ask the guest for the confirmation or credit card# (just imagine rental movies online). I am just wondering if we have any such interaction with my web application through any plugin / directly

I am pretty sure you have the option within Media portal client to password protect the share, no reason the password can't be a pin number!
If the user only has a remote to access the client then he wont be able to tamper with this either.
