Anyway I have a PVR-250 MCE that I was using with the demo of Snapstream but I didn't want to spend 70$ on it so I figured I'd give media portal a try.

However all I get is static on my the screen. Its like its trying to use an antenna when in fact is Sat. TV. I switched it to cable and that didn't seem to help at all.

Is there something in the setup that I'm missing? The Sat. box audio and video out plugs straight into the RCA jacks on the back of the PVR-250

UPDATE: Duh nevermind I was added the channels as if they were antenna or cable channels.

Is there an easier way to get my dish channels added into this thing?

Not sure if this is the easiest/best way, but this is what I do:
Search and download xmltv for your country. Import the tvguide. This will auto-create all channels. You just need to map them to your card (3 seconds) and change them to the correct input source (RCA).
