Found the reason why I could not scan S2 channels:the automatically downloaded 23.5 ini file containes S2 transponder infomation which is skipped alltogether. However there is also 23.5 S2 .ini which apparently is used solely for this S2 purpose, but this file did not contain the transponder information for the HD channels I wanted to scan. Adding this information manually solved the problem.
