i,m instal this player and have 4 icon in desktop,so what?

You can't use "localhost" for the hostname. Please use the name or IP address of the the computer instead.

Are you trying to use an existing MySQL database or has MP installed the database?
Also remember that the default password is case sensitive - it should be MediaPortal not mediaportal or Mediaportal.

i has MP instal the database.don,t download it during set up players.befro Install mysql-essential-5.1.60-win32.
password is MediaPortal too.

If you installed the database by yourself then you need to create the TV database (MpTvDb) and give the database user permissions to access that schema. It is easier to let MP install the database.
