mediaportal and asio (1 Viewer)

I currently trialling mediaportal and J River MC (JRMC). I am using asio4all drivers.

I have setup mediaportal to use ASIO but when I played a file, it suddenly crashed. I tried the same thing with JRMC and no problems with playing music files.

I am using a Chaintech AV710 using the latest Via drivers.

I have a Vista x64 setup as well.

has anyone experience the same problem? thank you

I thought my issue is separate from that "asio music player" since bass/asio settings are built-in to mediaportal while asio music player seems like an external program/plugin that I need to install separately?
